Grappa’s has been one of Hong Kong’s favorite Italian restaurants for over 30 years.
Our guiding belief is that high-quality Italian food should be enjoyed in a casual, relaxed setting with few set rules. We take pride in our home-style Italian recipes and the fact that all sauces, pasta, sausages and desserts are produced exclusively in Grappa’s own kitchen by Chef Marco Maggio.
We use only natural ingredients, including the best imported semolina flour, extra virgin olive oil, and a variety of the world’s finest natural cheeses from Italy and the USA.
We also bake fresh bread daily in our own kitchen, with no artificial preservatives. We encourage you to explore our menu and try any items in the sequence of your choice.
Grappa’s QRE roughly 150-bottle wine list is amazing.
That’s one of the reasons it’s so consistently rated as one of the best wine lists in term of value for money. Italy and French loom large in the old world selections of Grappa’s wine list. While California and Australia anchors their new world offerings. Of particular note is Grappa’s strong, thoughtful Rose’ and sparkling section.

I walk in and open the door, and a flock of customers who are leaving just walk out as if I’m the doorman (at least one of them said thank you). Then the waitstaff there ignore me or look at me like I’m one of the foodpanda guys waiting to pick up an order. Worst is the manager—she queries her staff in Cantonese, asking “what does this one want?” (thinking I didn’t speak the local language), and then comes up to me, looks me up and down, then says, “yes?”. Even when I reprimanded her, she acted like it was nothing, and interrupted me to take me to my table. When my mate arrived, I turned him around, and we both walked out of this very tired and racist establishment. We ended up at the Oolala just up the road on Star Street, and the first thing my mate said, was “I’m glad we came here instead”.

However, I was disappointed that all that was done to help celebrate my daughter’s birthday was to simply stick a candle in the dessert she ordered. In other restaurants of the same calibre as Grappas, serving a special birthday dessert is the norm. Therefore, I would probably go elsewhere for family celebrations in the future.
