Fine French Cuisine and selections of aperitif and wine by Chef Stephane Simond served in both indoor and al fresco seatings with romantic atmosphere in the heart of Berawa, Bali. Open everyday for Lunch and Dinner Folie is madly in love about good food. In French, it means love to the brink of madness. Folie also believes in the pleasure of eating. No guilt should be involved when you are savouring our cake or slurping Folie’s signature pasta. Folie was founded by a French native Stephane Simond who was fascinated by Asian flavours. As he proclaims, Folie is a love child between two grand food cultures, not West nor East, but an attempt to discover something in between. Chef Stephane’s style of cooking is deeply influenced by his French haute cuisine experiences, and yet he is deeply enchanted by the fiery Asian flavour. Корисний відгукFirst off we tried to order the pâté but were told there was none available! A French restaurant with no pâté- go figure. I ordered the duck confit which was dry and not pleasant to eat. It was accompanied by chopped up lettuce with some halved grapes which looked to be just a plate filler. Not sure what the role of this was. My friend ordered the crispy pork belly but was underwhelmed as the fat layer was not rendered down enough. Not pleasant trying to eat fatty pork.
I had been really looking forward to dessert but after the waitress had asked us how our dinner was and my response was “meh” she just thanked us and walked off so we weren’t staying any longer.
I did get a dessert for takeaway which was quite tasty.
Considering it was Bastille Day l thought there would be some recognition of this day in this restaurant but no.
Very very disappointed in the whole experience
